Mrs. Plummer and I are very happy to have your child in our class this year! The students are adjusting well and excited about many new learning experiences in first grade.

Agendas
Please sign your child's agenda daily and check it for classroom information and daily behavior. Be sure to check the agenda pocket as well, for any special notes or homework that may come home. Praise your child for their green in the agenda each day. A yellow in the agenda means your child received a warning about following rules. Red indicates your child had difficulty following the rules and had to be reminded of the rules several times. Purple indicates your child was severely disruptive and had to visit the office. Please encourage your child to do their best each day.
Thursday Folders
Folders will come home each Thursday with your child's work from the previous week. Please go over the work with you child and keep it at home to review. We will also send notes from the classroom, office and PTA to keep you informed of events happening at school. Please read these and send back only the items that need your reply.
Homework
Your child will have homework every night, except Fridays. Please help your child complete the work and return it the next day. Listed below is an example of each night's homework. This may change slightly each week, depending on our unit of study for the week.
Monday - Write Spelling words 3 times each and
practice reading story in Reading book.
Tuesday - Math review sheet and a Reading assignment.
Wednesday - Write a sentence for each of the Spelling
words.
Thursday - Math review sheet, write each Spelling word in a sailboat pattern and study for Spelling test.
