PLANNED ACTIVITIES:
READING: We will begin "Leonardo's Horse" on Monday, November 14th. Our reading skill for the week will focus on main idea. Our reading quiz for "Leonardo's Horse" will be on Friday, November 18th. Students should complete any unfinished work from stations/workbooks at home. This is a portion of their reading grade. Students should also be reading AR books at home daily (I suggest 15-20 minutes) and completing their AR reading log. This is also part of their reading grade.
LANGUAGE: Our grammar skill for this week is principle parts of regular verbs. Our grammar and spelling quiz will be on Friday, November 18th. We utilize our grammar and spelling workbooks to practice these skills. We also review these skills during reading stations. Students also complete a daily journal entry. This is graded every 5-10 days! Please make sure students complete each entry! Journals may be completed throughout the day or taken home to finish.
MATH: We will begin Chapter 4 on Tuesday. Students complete a Spiral Review of skills each day and will be tested periodically from these reviews. They will also have weekly, timed multiplication quizzes. We have homework assignments every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Any work not completed in class on Wednesday and Friday is also homework. Please check that your child is completing all assignments!
SCIENCE: We will continue working on Variables. The next investigation will be 'Lifeboats'. Students should complete their notebook for "Pendulums" part 1 and 2. We will supplement this kit with our textbook and informational videos from Ignite!
