fortunate - lucky

produce - farm products; that which is made

suffering - feeling pain or loss

distracted - confused

effect - to cause something to happen

Important note: Please practice addition and subtraction facts with your child each day. You will need one set each of addition and subtraction cards. Pick 12 facts to work on at a time. When your child has mastered these, choose 12 more. Just practice for about 12-15 minutes at a time. Have your child say the whole problem, such as 4+3=7, not just say the answer. It is just a matter of memorizing them. If your child doesn't answer within 2 seconds say the answer and have him say the fact 5 times. Then continue with the next fact.
