November 1, 2009

It is hard to believe that it is already November!  Between now and our exams in December, we will hope to cover chapters 5-7.  The largest amount of time will be spent on The Constitution which begins in Chapter 5 and goes through Chapter 6.

On Wednesday, we will have the test over The Revolution, 4.3-4.4.  The study guide for it went home on Friday, along with a "Halloween treat" of some typed written notes.  If you have been taking good notes in class, along with high-lighting or putting a star next to some of the notes, the parts that we have covered in class that are on the study guide should be easy.  For some of the vocabulary words, you will need to look on the last page of the chapter and the primary source document.  There are 8 vocabulary words listed, along with their definitions on the right-hand side of the page.

The only homework that will be assigned between today and Tuesday, will be to finish your study guide and to STUDY!

The 4 1/2 weeks grades will be sent out on Nov. 11th.  That means that the first folder check will take place on the Friday before.  If you have written down the pages as they are assigned each day and put all of your work in your folder, once again, this will be an easy quiz grade!

Literature:

We will continue with Scene 3 on Monday.  At the end of Act I, there will be a test.

Film footage of Anne Frank has surfaced recently.  The film shows Anne as a young 12 year old watching her neighbors leave for their wedding.  If you watch it, you can report on what you saw for extra credit.

Your first AR test must also be taken by the Friday before progress reports go out on the 11th!  More than a few of you have already taken your test!  Any extra books that you read will count as extra credit.
