This week in Language Arts, we are reading a story called One Little Mouse. In this story, we take an adventure with a little mouse who is in search of a new home. After trying several new homes, the little mouse finds that his house is actually the best fit for him! We will be introduced to our new sight words: one, two, three, four, and five. We will use our new words to make a counting book to take home and enjoy. We will read our decodable reader which introduces blends! We will learn that when you blend two letters together, they make their own sound! In Math, we are learning about lines of symmetry and fractions. We will end the week by taking our chapter test. In religion, we will learn about Lent. We will be discussing new beginnings along our Lenten journey. In the afternoon we will work in our learning centers that go with our reading series. We will discuss how Jesus is our friend and make a class book on what we would do with Jesus for a day. We will also begin our Lenten journey by writing our Lenten sacrifice on a foot print to hang on the wall with our "stained glass" crosses. |
