Strategies for Success (SFS)

Welcome to 2009-2010! Classes are already underway in 1st trimester. In SFS, we have started our first unit - Freedom Writers. This movie focuses on two main points - writing and how we will treat each other in the classroom this year. Students have done a self-assessment of their writing skills and identified the skill on which they would like to focus. We have also begun to identify strategies for completing work:

#1.  Homework Folder

#2.  Planner, Assignment Log, or To Do List

#3. 10 minute Homework 

Students have set an academic goal to work on for the trimester and we have been addressing the issues of organization and procrastination.

Students are given time in class to work on assignments and are expected to bring work from other classes.

Students who would like more time can sign up for study hall during club time on B days or stay after with Ms. Axtell on Mondays from 3 - 4 (sign up in her room).
