GOOD EVENING. 

CONGRATULATIONS TO HUNTER BRADSHAW WHO WON THE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC GEOGRAPHY BEE ON JANUARY 10TH.  Gabrielle Sarasen came in 2nd and Adam Plecan 3rd.  A job well done by all of the participants!

Valentine Flowers can be ordered until February 2nd. All students have order forms. There are more in the office or my room #53.

Mr. Gallagher (student teacher) has been observing and is now ready to delve into all of the classes. The students have welcomed him and he can't wait to try new lessons.

Mock Trial will be held this week on Monday from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m.  This is the dress rehersal so all team members need to bring their clothes to change into at 3 p.m.

The competition is at John Winthrop Middle School in Deep River, CT.  It will begin at 4 p.m and end around 7:30 p.m. Lisbon will supply the bus to and from the event.  If you wish to take your child home and not on the bus, please indicate on the sheet that I sent home last week with the directions.  We always stop at a McDonald's after the event. and I will buy the students an ice cream or yogurt for dessert. If your child has allergies to those items, please indicate so that they can get something else. Reminder to the students who did not sign up with Mr. Rossi for dinner, you need to bring your dinner to school on Wednesday.

Grade 8 - There will be a quiz on Sections 1 and 2 (Chapter 9) on Monday.  We will be continuing with the next two sections dealing with the War of 1812.  The test is now scheduled for Tuesday, January 31st. There will be an online pretest for the students to take.

I will put it online Thursday night and to completed by Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. They are to remember to go on phschool.com and take the quizzes before they take the online test.   

Grade 7 -

I assigned the online writing and quizzes on Thursday of last week on myworldgeography.com.  There are sections where you have to look at graphs and maps and answer questions. At the same time you can save information into a tracker where you will use that information to write a persuasive essay using the essential question of Canada. You will then be able to pull pictures and videos from your tracker after you have written your 5 paragraph essay.  The essay will be due online on Tuesday, January 24th for all 7th graders.
