Mrs. Powers Language Arts Classes

Tree Frog Team

    WEEK OF NOVEMBER 2-6

Wow! Time flies- we are already making our transition from two to four teacher teams.  Welcome to my "new" students and parents- I look forward to working with you! Mrs. Schaeffer has had many great things to say about you.

Language Arts

  1.     For the next several weeks our focus will be on reading novels.  We are starting our study by reading How I Survived Middle Schoolby Nancy Krulik.  The short book takes a humorous look at everyday middle school life.  We will be comparing and contrasting our middle school to the one in the story. Next, we will read The Watson's Go to Birmingham, 1963- an excellent award-winning book with lots of action, adventure, humor, and history.

We will begin Wordskills Lesson Three this week.

****Reminders****

Each student will receive a second quarter gradesheet soon. Students will fill out their grades and compute their averages so they will always know their grade.

Report Cards will be ready next week.

Stay tuned for more info. . .
