Mrs. Powers' Language Arts Classes

Tree Frog Team

It's beginning to feel a little like Spring!!

Language Arts 1st/2nd-  This week we will continue to work on understanding and using figurative language in our reading and writing.  We will start by  studying idioms.  We will view the  video version of the drama The Phantom Tollbooth and compare/contrast it with the version we read.

LanguageArts 5th/6th period-  We will continue our study of figurative language- especially idioms.  We will discuss the difference between literal and figurative language and how and why authors use them to enhance writing.
