Welcome to Pre-K! We would like to introduce you to our monthly newsletter. Here you will find information on upcoming events, important dates, our units of study, and important reminders that keep our year flowing smoothly.

Pre-K is a year of growing socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. Your involvement, interest, and enthusiasm will help make this a wonderful year of growth for you and your child. This year, we will be working on increased independence, classroom & school procedures, and using our words to express our feelings. The skills we practice daily in Pre-K are the building blocks for your child’s future success in school. We will have a wonderful year together!

Also, please continue to check newsletters and our school’s website, as both are updated with the new calendar changes.

Here are just a few reminders as we continue our year in Pre-K:

  • All children must come with a folder, a flat and fitted sheet every Monday. Folders must come to school every day.

  • Please practice putting on all clothing with your children. As independence with dressing is highly encouraged and practiced everyday, reinforcement at home is key. Please practice putting on/off of all sweaters and jackets, buttoning/unbuttoning buttons, and zippering zippers.

  • Doors open at 7:45am, please try to arrive with your child before 8:00am, as we begin our day promptly. Side door closes at 8:00am.

  • Please check and empty your child’s folder every day as completed work, and important information is sent home frequently. As well, at home activities will be sent home every Friday, along with all blankets.

Thematic Unit

The first unit we will be working on is “All About Me.” This unit allows your children to introduce themselves, embrace their individualities, and get to know their new friends. We will be engaging in activities involving our names, family, favorite colors, what they like about themselves, and many more. This topic is a great start for our children to get to know each other, make friends, and embrace each others similarities and differences.
