- The Sounds of Spoken Language I have found a link that pronounces sounds in isolation. You can see a diagram of mouth movement and a real person saying individual sounds. Click on American English. Click on manner. Choose a button in the second row (e.g. liquid). Click on the sound furthest to the left (letter e.g. /r/). Then click on the blue arrow under the diagram to play. Double click on the blue arrow under the photograph to make her talk.
