* * * November 23-25, 2009 * * * Happy Thanksgiving! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ F.Y.I. We will not have a Reading Selection or a Spelling Lesson this week due to the Thanksgiving Break! * On Tuesday the Second Grade will be making Stone Soup! Yum!!! Please remember to have your child bring his/her assigned ingredient to school on Tuesday. * Don't forget that there is an 11:30 am Dismissal on Wednesday and NO SCHOOL on Monday, November 30th. I hope you all have a Blessed Thanksgiving holiday. I pray that those of you who will be traveling will do so safely. Enjoy the break in the normal (hectic) day to day routine! Thank you for sharing your children with me. They are one of the many blessings I thank God for everyday! While I'm on the subject of thankfulness, I'd like to say that I appreciate the donations of prizes for the monthly raffles and also the donations of disinfecting wipes, kleenex, paper towels, and liquid hand sanitizer. I feel very blessed to have students with such generous and helpful parents. Thank you for everything you do! *********************************************** F.Y.I. * We began our TAG (Traveling Art Gallery) Program last week. The children explore a different painting each week. After discussing it, they make a craft that is related to the painting in some way. Today (11/16/09), after looking at a painting called "Seal Rock", the children used modeling clay to create "sculptures" of sea creatures. I want to thank Mrs. Stofesky and Mrs. Emamzadeh for volunteering their time to bring this enriching art activity to our children. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ YOUR CHILD'S "SPECIALS" PERIODS ARE: Tuesday: Music Wednesday: Library (Students should bring in their library books.)
