 EXPLORING BUSINESS

TECHNOLOGIES

Please bring a pencil every day!

6th Grade

How do good keyboarding skills improve productivity in the business world?
As an introduction to business basics, students are busy learning the keyboard, including the alphabet, numbers, symbols, and the keypad. All students are working on proper position and using the proper techniques. Students work very diligently for nine weeks. Students can check on their own progress, through a self generated summary report. We strive for 25 words per minute with 5 or fewer errors by the end of the nine weeks.

      9 Week Schedule

  1. 1-5 Alphabet
  2. 6-10 Alphabet
  3. 11-15 Alphabet
  4. 16-20 Alphabet
  5. 1-4 Keypad & Skill Building
  6. 1-8 Numeric Keyboard
  7. 9-12 Numeric Keyboard
  8. 13-16 Numeric Keyboard
  9. Skill Building Lessons

We set weekly goals, and most students will complete all alphabet lessons by the time midterms are sent home to parents. Skill building in Speed and Accuracy may begin at an earlier date for those who are meeting their weekly goals before the end of the week. Computer word and math games are used as incentives on Fridays for those who reach their goals. Happy Keyboarding!
