STUDENTS AND PARENTS -

THE FOLLOWING IS INFORMATION CONCERNING THE COMPLETION FOR THE ALADDIN CLASSICS.

~ GUIDELINES FOR COMPLETION OF ALADDIN CLASSICS ~

These guidelines will remain the same for each book – every nine weeks.

1.       Read the book which has been assigned for each of the applicable nine    weeks… 2nd, 3rd, 4th.

2.      In the back of each book there will be a short “About This Book.”

·                    Next there will be “Discussion Questions.”

·                    Choose only one question to answer.  (You may find the question with multiple questions within it better for writing a whole page.)

·                    Type the question on your paper first.

·                    Next answer the question.

·                    Your paper should be double spaced – 12 font size – one complete   page.

3.      After the “Discussion Questions” will be an “Activities/ Projects” part.

·                    Choose only one activity/ project to complete.

·                    This is not a type written activity.

·                    You must use either a poster board – illustrated, or complete some other activity.  (example:  one project is to make a doll)

·                    If you decide to do some sort of written project, that is fine.    However, you must put it on poster board with illustrations.  (i.e.… a visual representation).  Make sure to include the name of the book and the author on the front.

The following are the due dates:

           1st nine weeks:  10/19(Silver)/ 10/20 (Gold)

     ·        2nd nine weeks:  1/14 (Silver)/ 1/15 (Gold)

·        3rd nine weeks:  3/22 (Silver)/ 3/23 (Gold)

·        4th nine weeks:   6/2 (Silver)/ 6/3 (Gold)

The project is worth 200 points.  It will be assessed as follows:

·        Ability to completely and knowledgably answer the discussion question in the assigned length.

·        Activity/ Project is completed as assigned within the activity/ project area of the book.  Shows effort and is well illustrated.

Presented in a well rehearsed manner.  (the typed question/answer and project may be referred to at any time during the presentation)
