Welcome to Mrs. Cook's Class
Striving to be the best fifth grade class!!

Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe the school year is almost over. The students are still expected to stay focused and attend school on a daily basis. We will be completing EOG remediation and retesting. IF the students do need to retest will be important for them to be here for remediation.

Character Counts!

August/September: Jalen (Responsibility)

October: Dany and Olivia (Respect)

December: Megan and Jose (Compassion)

January: BJ and Rosa

February:Cristina and Zoey

March: Cody (Honesty)

HOMEWORK REMINDER: You child will have spelling and math homework every night (Monday thru Thursday). There may be times when your child will be given a short homework assignment on Fridays. It is important that they are completing any homework they may have on the weekend. The students are also to be reading for 30 minutes a night. They are also to be reading their weekly poem aloud two times a night as well.

UNIFORM REMINDER: Please make sure that the length of our shorts and skirts is appropriate for school. Shorts need to reach the end of the student's fingertips and skirts need to be at least 2 inches from the knees. If your daughter wears a shirt or dress and wants to wear leggings or tights, they need to be navy, gray, red, or white. Our uniform colors are khaki and navy for bottoms and red, navy, and gray polo style tops. The students should also be wearing tennis shoes and belts every day. If you student wants to wear a sweatshirt in class it must be red, navy, or gray. If you purchased a Knollwood sweatshirt that can be worn as well.

Please make sure that your child is prepared for school each day. This includes being rested, having homework completed, and supplies for the day. I appreciate your support in helping your child be successful.

Lend a helping hand!! We can always use the following items throughout the school year: notebook paper, notebooks, tissues, pocket folders, and glue sticks. We would also like balls, jump ropes, frisbees, or sidewalk chalk for recess. If you can donate any of these items we would APPRECIATE IT!!

***Reminder: When your child is out sick from school, we need a note when they return to school. Also, your child is responsible for any make-up work they have. ALL make-up work is due 2 days after their absence.
