                  Welcome to  Mrs. Shoop's Class
     Snowman

We have started our geometry unit in math. Please make sure your child knows the vocabulary
for the unit. They were given a sheet to put in their folder
with a list of definitions and examples. Also, please continue to review multiplication facts at home with your child.
During our reading block, we are currently reading Chocolate Fever. In Social Studies, we are continuing to focus on Early Americans.
In science, we are finishing out unit on weather. There will be a test on Wednesday, January 20th. Please make sure your child is studying for the test.

The students have been introduced to Larry Bell's 12 Powerful Words. The students will be learning how to spell each word, the definition, how to use it in a sentence, and how to write a sentence with the word. These are strategies they will be practicing during reading to help prepare for the EOG's.

Reminder: When your child is out sick from school, we need a note when they return to school. Also, your child is responsible for any make-up work they have.
