Dear Students and Parents,

     Thank you for visiting my website!  On this page you will find everything you need to know about my classroom!   Please see the bottom of this page for special End of Year Activities!


Updated Grades -    

 Grades are updated through 6/7.  Check out the parent portal to see your child's grades!

     You can view your child's grades in every subject on the Parent Portal.  Please see the link at the bottom of this page in the "Favorite Links" section.  I will also let students know their present average and make-up work due every Monday. My grades are never a secret! 
 
My Grades - Point System
Here are the values of most of my grades:
  • classwork - 10 points each
  • homework - generally 10 points each (occasionally more)
  • bellringers - 20 points/week  (can vary)
  • bellringers - unannounced "pop" grade at any time - out on desk & working on them 10 points each
  • quizzes - 20-50 points
  • tests - 100 points (not counting bonus)
  • extra credit/bonus problems - 4 bonus points each (generally)
  • class participation - 1-2 bonus poInts each for awesome answer
  • exit slips - NEW - unannounced 10-25 points                                                               
Why do I make students show all of their work??????

1)  It helps students learn how to do a problem.
2)  It helps students get the answer correct.
3)  It helps me to see where a mistake was made.
4)  It helps a student see where they made a mistake.
5)  It makes it easier to do harder, multi-step problems once students know the basics of the easier problems.
6)  It's good to learn to follow directions.
7)  If you don't, you won't get credit.
Missing/Late Work  -

Work turned in late is only worth 20% of it's original value, which is a low F. 
Please turn your work in on time! (Forgetting your homework in your locker
is NOT a valid excuse to turn work in late.)

Things to Bring to Math Class Every Day! -
  • math pocket folder
  • math spiral notebook
  • pencil/eraser
  • covered math textbook
  • bellringers (Tues. - Fri.)
  • homework (if it was assigned)
  • agenda (required for ALL classes)

End of Year Activities

 
Monday, 6/8 -
Turn in Math Books - I will collect math books today.
     Lost math books cost $54.95.
& Panther Bowl Contest
     (This is not real bowling.  It is a Jeopardy-style 
     academic contest between all Panther Team classes all day.)
 
Tuesday, 6/9 -
Panther Team Awards Assembly & Slide Show!
     2nd & 3rd periods in the cafeteria 
     Parents do NOT attend this event. 
     Every student will NOT receive an award.
 
Wednesday, 6/10 -
Panther Team Field Day - outside during periods 1-3
Panther Team Locker Clean Out - 4th period
     Students will also turn in locker locks.
 
Thursday, 6/11 -
Regular Day
     (Students who are absent will NOT miss any work.)
 
Friday, 6/12 -
Regular Day
Last student day of school!
     (Students who are absent will NOT miss any work.)
 
Monday, 6/15 -
Last teacher day of school!
 

Online homework/study help is available 
for each section of the textbook!

at the bottom of this page.
It is sooooo cool!


Students can also schedule after school help with me.
Homework help can't begin until after my after school bus duty.
Help times will be 2:50 - 3:20.
Students will need to provide their own transportation, or walk home, since they will definitely miss the 2nd run bus.
Also, please schedule in advance, since I am not available every day, due to faculty & committee meetings.  Thank you!
