Week of November 23-27, 2009

Have a great weekend! 

-Thank you to everyone who attended and brought some delicious food to the Thanksgiving Feast.  It was a great time for everyone!  We appreciate your time and help to make our Thanksgiving Feast such a great success!

-Wednesday, November 26th is a half day for full day students.  Students should be picked up between 11:45 and 12:00p.m. to kick of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.  No School on Thursday, November 26th or Friday, November 27th for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

-No School on Monday, December 7th for a teacher In-Service day or Tuesday, December 8th for the feast of the Immaculate Conception.

-Secret Santa Shop will be held on Wednesday, December 2nd.  Students wishing to purchase small gifts for family members will be asked to bring in money with the envelope that will be provided, designating how much should be spent on family members, etc.  Preschool will have a special designated time to go over to the BIG school to shop.  The shop is only one day, so any student who forgets his/her money will NOT be able to shop on another day.  Please look in the Tuesday communication paperwork from the BIG school for more details and the money envelope. 

-If you have not already done so, please return your child's pillow case for his/her sleeping bag.  Some of them did not return after they went home to be washed over the long weekend.  It makes storing much easier. 

-Please remember to call your child out sick at the preschool number (215)572-8605 on the morning he/she is sick and send in an absentee note when he/she returns to school.

-The colder weather is here.  Please dress your child appropriately for the weather, including coats, hats, gloves, etc.  Unless the weather is severly cold or rainy, we do try to get outside for a little bit everyday.

 -Beginning in November, we are asking for any parents who would like to volunteer to help out at lunch, so that the teachers can have a much needed break to go over to the BIG school for lunch.  It does not have to be any set schedule.  Any day would be appreciated.  Let us know if you would like to help or have any questions.

-Please return the blue emergency closing papers that were sent home in the Tuesday communication packet from the BIG School.  These are necessary in the event of an emergency closing.  New papers were sent home for any student who still needs to turn one in.

-Our student of the Week for this week is GRACE URBAN (pre-4)!!!!

-Please remember to pack your child any items he/she will need for lunch, including spoons, forks, straws, etc.

 -If anyone is interested in donating, we are in need of CLOROX/LYSOL cleaning wipes/spray to help keep preschool as germ free as possible during this flu season.  Thanks to all of the parents who donated already!

This week we will be learning the letter Ee, the number 5, and the color brown.  The theme will be thanksgiving.

 Monday- Thanksgiving Activity with grade 3;  Music with Miss D

Tuesday-cooking: pumpkin cupcakes; make an indian decoration

Wednesday-Color- round the turkey; turkey pokey; pin the nose on the turkey games      Early Dismissal

Thursday-No School!  Enjoy your turkey!!!

Friday-No School!  Happy Shopping for those who are brave!!!
