Welcome to Mrs. Ausmann's Science Page

Our classes are rolling right along.   It is hard to believe that the Science Fair is already here!  Our Gecko projects are due on January 19th and 20th.  The projects will be on display the entire week of January 25th with the judging on January 28th.  Winners will be announced on Friday the 29th.  Projects will also need to be removed from the media center on the 29th.  The top three schoolwide winners will move on up to the county level at Horizon's and hopefully will travel on to regionals and then the state competition.  Good Luck to all of our participants!

We have already finished the entire unit on all of the human body systems.  We have also started the unit on weather.  Our 3rd entry for our writing portfolio will be complete on January 14th.  It is a paper on a "Hurricane Disaster!"

Remember that we send updated grades home with the students every two weeks in the organizers.  Keep up with homework by calling the hotline daily.  The phone number and Gecko code is in the organizer.  Use these to stay on your child!

Keep using the weblinks below.  The textbook site is included.  See your syllabus for username and password for accessing the online textbook.  Some other sites are fun and gross, while others are great sources of scientific information.  (Remember, it is better to use models of dissection than to kill the poor, sweet, defenseless creatures of our world;  plus, models of dissection don't stink or get your hands dirty!)

     See you in class!
