Dear Parent(s)/Guardians:

            It is with great pleasure that I welcome your child to my class.  I look forward to a very exciting school year. This school year your child will be involved in a vast variety of activities and learning experiences. This is a year of important transitions. Here are some recommendations we feel are essential for your child to succeed.

·        Home Learning is a vital component for your child to succeed. It is an extension of what has been taught in class. It provides practice, reinforcement and teaches responsibility. Please review and sign the agenda daily to review Home Learning assignments. Please make sure your child is working on Carnegie everyday. It is a daily homework assignment.

·        Aside from their home learning, your child should complete 30 minutes of reading daily. Books read during independent reading should be listed in their reading logs, which will be collected weekly and graded.

·        If for any reason your child is absent, it is necessary and very important that you send a note the following day stating the reason for the absence. Excessive absences are not beneficial to your child's education.

·        We believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary to maximum school success. We encourage you to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
