Sept 15, 2009 AHS I: The teacher will discuss the skeletal system using a powerpoint. The students are to draw a picture of the inside of the bone. Refer to page 86 in book. Students are to complete the worksheets "Bone UP", "Shoulder and Arm Bones" and "Hip and Leg Bones". Students will then divide up in pairs and label their skeleton.
AHS II: Students are to complete page 243 in workbook.and then page 169 to end of section in workboo on respirations. The teacher will demonstrate how to take respirations correctly and students will divide up in pairs and practice taking pulse and respirations. While all of the above is going on, the teacher will be passing students off on Taking a Temperature with a glass thermometer.
MS II: The teacher will review the "Termperature Conversion Sheet". Teacher will demonstrate medical history, vital signs, heights, weight, and use of assessment techniques. Students will practice the above skills in pairs. Students to conduct Obtaining a Medical History using a Patient History form. Students will practice putting the manikinn in different positionsl. Teacher to check students off on the above listed skills.
HTR: Students to make a timeline of the important health related events in each time period. Students will complete the History of Health Care Crossword puzzle,. The teacher will discuss trends in health care using powerpoint. Students to watch a short video clip on the history of health care.
