Hello to all Families of Swimming Pen Creek Elementary:

WELCOME BACK!!! I'M VERY EXCITED ABOUT STARTING ANOTHER SCHOOL YEAR AT SWIMMING PEN CREEK ELEMENTARY!!!!

We have a brand new Spirit Shirt for this school year that I am selling for $12.00.  Please contact me or send your child to me for an order form.  I have many sizes in stock and will be ordering more as we need them.  I also still have many of the previous year spirit shirts left in various sizes that are available for $5.00.

The Resource schedule has changed again from our previous year for all grade levels.  Please make sure that your students are wearing appropriate clothing and athletic shoes on the days they have P.E. or Run/Walk.

We have begun our Fall Fitness Unit.  We will be completing the Presidential Physical Fitness test in grades 4th through 6th.  Each students goal is to be in the Healthy Fitness Zone in the five areas of the test to earn the award that will be handed out in May.

The first semester Health & Fitness concepts that are covered are Flexibility, Nutrition and Upper Body Muscular Strength and Endurance.  The second semester concepts are Body Image, Cardiovascular Endurance, Lower body Muscular Strength & Endurance, Consumer/Environmental Issues & Exercise Myths.  we will finish up the year with Recognition of Student Achievement.

The Clay County Elementary Track Meet will be held on Saturday, March 3rd starting at 8:00 a.m. at Middleburg High School.  All 4th, 5th & 6th Grade students are eligible to try out for our Team in early February with practices taking place before school the last week of February and the first week of March.

I encourage all students to wear proper clothing on P.E. & Run/Walk Days and to also drink plenty of water throughout the day during this hot time of year.

Run/Walk Club News

Run/Walk Club is available to every student in our school.  Ice Cold Water Bottles are available to be purchased for 50 cents on Run/Walk Club Days.  We meet every Friday during their Resource Time (Weather Permitting).  Students can earn many different mileage awards from tokens, t-shirts, medals and trophies for their achievements.  Coach MacDougall highly recommends that students do extra credit laps in P.E. to add to their Run/Walk Club mileage.

We will be selling a brand new Run/Walk Club long sleeve t-shirt when the weather gets a little cooler.  Order forms will be available before our Christmas Break.  We still have a few of our short sleeve shirts available for $5.00.  We love to see our runners wear them on Run/Walk Club Day and to any local fun runs that we participate over a weekend throughout the school year.
