Upcoming Events

2/13 Tuesday

Math- We are still working in Module 3 all this week and next week.

Parents: You will have a signature page that you are to sign off on every time I send FSA practice work for you to review over with your child. By signing it, it is telling me that you had a chance to review over the practice problems with your child. We are doing the packets in class first. Then I will show your child how to solve them. They are to take notes only on the ones they missed and you are to practice those with your child to try to gain mastery. This is counting a test grade. It is their chance to make an easy 100. I never grade the first time around. They will get their paper back with the ones marked wrong. They have to correct those after I re-teach it. Then they turn it back in for the 100%. If they do not show their work or correct them, they will get the grade that was from the first time.

We are taking less time in Science to concentrate on preparing for Math FSA.  As the students master the lesson they move forward. If they do not master it, we re-teach lesson and give extra practice before moving forward.

Parents: A couple items I am asking for if possible.                                                      Parent signature page for FSA folder: Reward will be a dessert celebration before FSA for 10 or more signatures on due dates.

WEEK 1:The first signature was from week 1.

Students were given a vocabulary sheet and asked to review at home with parent to become familiar with FSA terminology.

WEEK 2: Another Vocabulary sheet to practice at home.  (Due 2/13)

A letter home with website for parent to get their child on FSA practice tests with answer key on computer. Students are to practice at home to get used to the type of questions and the format. ( Signature on letter and parent signature page) (Due 2/16)

If anyone can donate any copy paper that would be fabulous. These FSA packets that I am making have used up all my school supplied copy paper.

I am in need of more treats, candy or such. I love rewarding my fabulous "A" students.

Science Review was Monday 2/12 Test will be Wednesday 2/14. No science homework this week except to study for test.

Parents:  I have extra practice sheets for multiplication. Feel free to email me if you would like to practice with your child. This unit is multiplication facts up to 9 using one to four digits. Students need to practice these basic skills at home to increase fluency.

  1. Please have your child practice i- ready math at home on computer if you are able.

If you go to the FSAssessment page, there is a link for parents and students. This will help your child at home with understanding the format of the test.
