Welcome to Mr. Fureno's 4th Grade Web Page!

Message #1--Your child will be required to read 25 chapter books at their reading level during 4th grade. Tell your child to get a head start over the summer and read a few books before coming to school in September. Your child should be reading for atleast 20 minutes each day outside of school. If this is a problem, please contact me so we can work something out. These books should be at their reading level. A book should be completed about every 2 weeks. A book summary should be written for the first 11 books. The 25th book should be completed by April 16th.

Message #2--Your child is expected to know his/her addition, including doubles, subtraction, multiplication (up to 12 x 12), and division facts before entering 4th grade. Please work with your child on a nightly basis, to make sure he/she knows their facts without having to think about the answer. It will make life sooo much easier in 4th Grade Math this year. Thank You in advance for you cooperation!

Message #3--Please check your child's Homework Assignment Planner on a daily basis. Then please initial each homework assignment so that I know you have checked it, and the assignment is complete.

Message #4--It you would like to send in any snacks for the Halloween Party on Friday, but please keep in mind our healthy snacks policy.

Message #5--Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, November 12th and Friday, November 13th.  If you did not sign up for one at Open House, I will be contacting you so that you and I can meet.  If you have any questions, please contact me.

Message #6--Please fill out the Field Trip form and send it back as soon as possible.  We will be going to the State Capitol Building and New York State Museum in Albany on Wednesday, November 10th.  A bag lunch is needed.  Please do not send in any glass.
