Welcome to my world! September 17, 2008 - Students have been working very hard in social studies the past few weeks. Today, we had our Chapter 2 test. Tomorrow we will begin Chapter 3 on Mesopotamia and the Fertile Crescent. Students should be reminded that they need to keep up with their organization, as well as making sure they have kept up with their warm-up folders. September 26, 2008 - We have been covering a lot of information since our test. A few notes: students should be going over their vocabulary and notes EVERY DAY. I do not assign a lot of written homework, but that does not mean that students should not be going over that day's work. 15 minutes a day is all that I ask. Also, students should be keeping up with their warm-up folders. I may take those up for a grade at some point this week. Have a great weekend! September 29, 2008 - Today we began talking about Sumerian Achievements. I assigned a writing project today where each student should be creating their own writing system using pictographs. These are due on Monday. I want these to be as creative and colorful as possible. I would like to be able to hang these on our walls. Students should be going over notes and vocabulary every day. |
