Welcome to Mrs. Webb's Schoolnotes.  I am very happy you have taken the time to visit my website and I hope you will find it valuable.

We are nearing the end to the second quarter and our study of Africa.  We will be studying the inauguration and the connection with Martin Luther King, civil rights , and how far we have come as far as race relations go in the last fifty years.

We will begin our study of Asia very soon.  We will be looking at the conflict in Gaza, and why people have fought so long.

We are really working hard on reading skills in Social Studies.  Encourage or force (whichever word or philosophy you choose) your child to read everyday/night.  Make reading materials available to them.  Watch the news together. Many, many of our students are reading way below grade level.  They are 7th graders, but they are not too old to read aloud to you.  Have them read and article out of the newspaper to you while you are doing something or riding down the road.  Take those IPods and communicate with your child.  They will like the attention that you give them.
