This is voting week.  We are very excited to be voting on our favorite North Carolina Book Award book. The winners will be announced on Friday afternoon right before dismissal. 

I will be taking a group of 20 fourth graders to hear the NC author on Tuesday, April 3.  Her name is Julia Ebel and there is a link to her webb site at the bottom of my page.  Ms. Ebel will also have a program on Tuesday night at the Rowan Public Library for the general puplic.  I will also be doing an author study for all 4th graders this week on Julia Ebel and her books.  Her books are available for sale.  Just call me at Hurley and I will give you the details.

We will be  having a Buy One, Get One Book Fair at the end of the school year. 

The Caldecott and Newbery book winners for 2012 have been announced.  The Caldecott winner is A Ball for Daisy, written and illustrated by Chris Raschka.  The Newbery book winner for 2012 is Dead End in Norvelt by Jack Gantos.  They both will soon be avaible in our Media Center.
