Welcome to Title 1

A BIG thanks to all of the parents that attended our parent workshop with Greg Yousey.  We learned many tips that will help us with misbehaving children.  Our next parent activity will be in March.  A curriculum night and hot dog supper is planned.  Look for more information in the newsletter or Wednesday folders.

How to be involved in Your Child's Education!

One component of Title 1 is the parental involvement that we encourage and opportunities that we offer. If you are a  parent of a school age child, you play an essential role in your child's education.  Here are some tips to become involved in your child's education.

Help your child at home.  You can do this by:
  • encouraging your child to read, write and use math
  • ensuring that his or her homework is completed
  • making learning a part of each day

Be involved with your shild's school.

Volunteering, attending school events and communicating with school staff will all benefit your childs's education.

Promote education in the community.

Attending meetings, voting on educational issues and working with other parents are all ways to do this!

With the snow that we had this past week, we will go ahead with the stories that were already planned.

We all know what it is like to have the flu.  In fourth grade we will be reading a wonderful story about a family that has stricken with a deadly flu.  To save their son, they send him to live with an uncle in the Great Woods.  This is a great story to read this time of the year.

In first grade this week our story will be Mice At Sea.  What a great story to lead us into our next vowel which is long Ii.
