• Reading - We will continue with our theme this week entitled "Problem Solvers", and that is what our story characters will do, solve problems.  This week our story is "Marven of the Great North Woods".  Marven was sent to a logging camp to escape a flu epidemic.  He coped with many differences while he was in this new environment but also made a wonderful friend.

        As a reminder, just because we have migrated from the chapters on multiplication and division in math, please continue to practice this skill with your child at home. I hope that when you read your PTA newsletter that you noticed that we will be participating in the Links of Love again this year.  Don't be surprised when your child asks for quarters.  It is always fun to see the principal or the assistant principal become a human sundae. Thank you so much for reviewing your child's report card and returning the gray envelope.  A list of the students in our class was sent home on Thursday, Feb. 4th if your child is interested in sending valentines.  They can be brought to school from Wednesday until Friday, and the children will deliver them to student bags.  Also, don't forget that science fair projects are due on Feb. 10.  I certainly hope that this week does not turn out to be as snowy as the last.  Maybe we will see you for lunch one day at the cafeteria doors - 11:45!
