WELCOME "We're Wild About LEARNING!" April 23 - 27, 2012 ![]() Reading - We will wrap-up our heroes theme this week as we read the selections "Stormy, Misty's Foal" and "Sacagawea". The characters in both of these selections display quiet acts of heroism as compared to the deeds of other characters in this unit. There will be no spelling or vocabulary words this week as we will complete a unit theme test. EOG's are right around the corner - that is hard to believe, but our EOG review begins on Friday. More to come about our review in next week's edition. Math - equations, mode, median, and range Social Studies - collaboration unit - The Growth, Challenges, and Expansion of North Carolina Health - nutrition (nutrients, food groups) Please make plans to attend the Spring Fling on Saturday, April 28! The fun begins at 4:00 and will end at 7:00. If you have not sent in something for our auction basket, please do so. Our contribution for the silent auction will be a puppy basket. I hope you can come on Sat. to see him/her before that puppy goes to a wonderful home. Now we are on the downhill slide getting ready for the EOG's. Even though the end of the year is in sight, please encourage your child to continue to do his/her best both in school work and behavior. A reminder - our Scholastic Reading Counts goal for the month of April is 2 books read and tested before April 30th. We don't have many participants as of this time. Parents - please make this part of your child's daily assignments. We are off to another great week!!!!!
