Meet the Teacher

My Education

My high school Alma Mater is North Iredell.
Mitchell Community College is where I earned an 
Associate's Degree in Music.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from UNCC with a
Bachelor's Degree in Education with a minor in Music.
My Master's Degree is in Elementary Education from
Gardner-Webb University.
I am a National Board Certified Teacher.
I also have over 25 years of experience teaching music
to students ranging in age from 5 to 65.
This is my 14th year teaching elementary school. 
I enjoy teaching and helping my students become successful,
lifelong learners.

My Family

My husband, Mike, and I have been together for over 29 years.
We have three beautiful & talented daughters.
Our oldest, Stephanie, is married to Justin and she is an English Teacher at Pine Lake Preparatory School.
Kim, our second child, is a college student and
Jenny, our youngest, is also a college student.
We also have a precious grandson named Luke, Stephanie & Justin's first child.

 

My parents immigrated from Switzerland and Italy so I grew up speaking French & Italian.
Since my mother was a concert pianist, our house was filled with beautiful music.
My brother and sister also have musical talents.

I am very proud of my family.
 

My Favorites

My favorite things to do are play the piano, listen to music,
learn foreign languages, travel, 'surf' the internet,
ride horses, walk, bake, spend time with my family,
watch the weather channel, science activities,
and teach.
