   Your child will not have a spelling list this week.I hope everyone enjoyed the snow and took advantage of the extra time with your children. Hopefully we will be back to normal next week.                                                                              
  
Feb. 2010
    Reading- Inference,understanding inference in a story and identifying conflict in a story.
    Math- Money,Place Value, modeling numbers in a variety of ways.
    Science- Changes in Properties,Weather(snow),Water Cycle,Polar Regions
    Social Studies- Martin Luther King/& Other Famous Americans
    Behavior-We will continue focusing on Gifted Intelligent Behaviors for the rest of this school year. Be sure to ask your child about them and why it is important to use them. Did you use your METACOGNITION today?? Your child did!!!! I will send a copy of the Gifted Intelligent behaviors with an explanation next week.
    Homework-Your child will continue to bring home a homework folder daily. In his/her folder you will find a reading sheet to log your child's daily reading and a homework sheet that indicates the daily assignment for his/her spelling words. The homework paper should be kept in their folder. The assignment will remain the same each week.

WEEKLY HOMEWORK
Monday- Put spelling words in ABC order.
Tuesday-Write a sentence with each spelling word.
Wednesday- Write a rhyming word with each spelling word.
Thursday-Write spelling words 2 times each.

Read 15 minutes each night.
