Week of February 6th...

* Thanks for the "Boxtops".

* February 17th:  Elementary Science Fair

* February 20th:  Inservice Day, no school for students.

* Several students are in need of pencils.

* Please note the spelling words and name of story below.  This is a change from the note sent home on Friday.

* Students will be allowed to bring Valentine cards to swap with their classmates next Tuesday.  I will furnish a snack for the students on that day.  I would appreciate it if all parents would send one bag of candy on that day.  I will divide the candy and place it in goody bags for the students to take home that day.   A class list will be in your child's folder this Friday. 

 *SUBJECT AREAS

Math: We will begin working on ARMT+ testing skills this week, as well of division.  Please continue to work with your child on multiplication facts at home so that the division process will be easier for your child.

Reading: "Encyclopedia Brown and the Case of the Slippery Salamander".  Test on Friday.

Language: Contractions/Negatives

Spelling: Test on Thursday:   Spelling Words: distrust, uncertain, incomplete, unlikely, unfair, discontinue, unaware, disorder, discount, indirect, unopened, disrespect, unimportant, unlisted, disrepair, inability, disapprove, unsolved, disobey,  and unsuspecting.

Alabama History:  We will begin studying the period of Reconstruction and Abraham Lincoln.
