Congratulations to Leann Jackson and Jared Humphries who were selected as our Student Council Representatives!

It's hard to believe that the second nine weeks of school has already come and gone!  Third grade is a challenging year.  Your child will be expected to become more responsible and become better listeners.  They will be expected to follow all school and classroom rules.  Please encourage your child to do their very best and to pay attention, follow directions, and complete all assignments at school and at home.

Also, encourage your child to take AR tests.  We are participating in the "Book It "Program through Pizza Hut. Students will receive a coupon for a free personal pizza for every 5 AR points they get.  They may only get one coupon per month.  I want them to become better readers in third grade and to read every chance that they have.

In third grade, the students receive letter grades in four subjects:  MATH, LANGUAGE ARTS, SCIENCE, and SOCIAL STUDIES.

PARENTS

If your child will be going home a different way than usual, we are required to have a note for documentation.  This is for your child’s safety and security.  Thank for your understanding.

Also, all money that you send has to be in an envelope with your child’s name and what the money is for.

Every Monday, folders with your child's papers will be sent home for you to review.  Please sign the paper and date it.  This is due on Wednesday of the same week.  Please  check to make sure your child has completed all homework assignments.  If there is something your child is having difficulty with, make a note and I will reteach that skill.
