PLEASE NOTE:  CHAPTER 5 TEST FOR WORLD HISTORY AND CHAPTERS 8/9 TEST FOR LAW AND JUSTICE HAVE BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL THURSDAY, 4/1 ... THE GRADES WILL APPEAR ON 4TH QUARTER REPORT PERIOD.

STANDARD COURSE OF STUDY GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
World History: 1.04, 2.02, 2.03, 3.01, 3.02, 8.01, 8.02, 8.06
     The learner will recognize, use, and evaluate the methods and tools, valued by historians,
        compare the views of historians, and trace the themes of history. (Goal 1)
     The learner will analyze the development of early civilizations in Africa, Asia, Europe, and
        the Americas. (Goal 2)
     The learner will investigate significant events, people, and conditions in the growth of mon-
        archial and imperial systems of government. (Goal 3)
     The learner will assess the causes and effects of movements seeking change, and will eval-
        uate the sources and consequences of nationalism. (Goal 4)
     The learner will analyze the causes and effectsof twentieth century conflicts among nations.
       (Goal 5)
     The learner will investigate social and economic organization in various societies throughout
        time in order to understand the shifts in power and status that have occurred. (Goal 6)
     The learner will consider the short- and long-term consequences of he development of new
        technology. (Goal 7)
     The learner will assess the influence of ideals, values, beliefs, and traditions on current
        global events and issues. (Goal 8)

      -- Begin Chapter 6 Notes and do Chapter 6 Vocabulary
      -- Continue with Chapter 6 Notes when we return from Break
      -- Test on Chapter 6 AROUND 4/16 ... final date will be determined after break
      -- Chapter 10 Vocabulary due Monday, April 19
     

Law and Justice: All of Goal 2
     The learner will analyze the sources, purposes, and functions of law, the changes that have
        occurred in law, and the need for active and ongoing change. (Goal 1)
     The learner will describe the civil and criminal justice systems, analyze their operations, and
        assess their effectiveness. (Goal 2)
     The learner will differentiate between the roles and responsibilities of federal and state
        judicial systems and assess their effectiveness. (Goal 3)
     The learner will compare and contrast the roles and responsibilities of local, state, and
        federal law enforcement agencies. (Goal 4)
     The learner will identify correctional theories and evaluated thier effectiveness in federal
        and state correctional systems. (Goal 5)
