You have reached the SchoolNotes page for the East Rowan High School Student Council The East Rowan High School Student Council is made up of students from each grade level at the high school. Our purposes are to give students an opportunity to grow in their leadership skills, to be of service to the school and community, and to learn to work with others in a variety of situations. We will take an "after" picture, and have the students vote on Tuesday, November 23, for their favorites. Other categories include longest, most creative, best effort, and others. This is set up to be a really fun student activitiy. Get that beard growing!!!! Next General Council Meeting November 16, 2009 at 7 PM in the Library Very important meeting!!!! Freshmen to meet directly after the meeting! Sophomore Class Meeting Tuesday, November 17, directly after school in Ms. Horttor's room No-Shave-mber Meeting Mandatory meeting on Monday, November 23, directly after school in Mrs. Cherry's room Dodgeball Tournament (Senior Fundraiser) Details to follow!!!!!! Senior Class Meeting Wednesday, December 2, directly after school in Ms. Horttor's room Junior Class Holiday Get-Together Saturday, December 5, 1 PM - 6 PM, bring assigned snacks, meet at Canaan's house, Boundary Breaking will end the evening Winter Ball December 12, 2009 8 PM - 12 Midnight Committees for the dance will begin meeting this next week to make final plans for the dance. Winter Retreat Council is deciding tonight at the meeting (11/16) when the winter retreat will be. As soon as that is determined, this page will be updated to reflect the information. THIS RETREAT WILL BE MANDATORY ... THAT'S WHY WE HAVE TO SECURE A DATE THAT EVERYONE WILL BE ABLE TO ATTEND!!!! February Meeting Executive Board meeting will be held on February 9 at 2:45 PM in Mrs. Cherry's room. The general council will hold its regular scheduled meeting on February 16 at 7 PM in the library. North Carolina Association of Student Councils State Convention Asheboro High School Asheboro, NC March 6, 7, and 8, 2010 Price is $75 per person, with a maximum of 6 delegates; hopefully, the council can offset the cost of the registration some; a final decision will be made on that at the Winter Retreat. March Meeting Executive Board meeting will be held on March 9 at 2:45 PM in Mrs. Cherry's room. The general council will hold its regularly scheduled meeting on March 16, at 7 PM in the library. April Meeting Executive Board meeting will be held on April 13 at 2:45 PM in Mrs. Cherry's room. The general council will hold its regularly scheduled meeting on April 19, at 7 PM in the library. Elections Applications for next year's council offices and appointed positions will be on April 30. Applications will be available for students beginning April 20, with a due date for applications to be turned in on April 23. Screening for eligibility will be completed on April 26, with campaigning for elected offices beginning on April 27. Those applying for appointed positions will receive appointment cards for interviews, beginning April 27. Depending on the number of candidates, it is hoped that announcement for all positions will be made on May 10.
