This is a state-tested "Vocats" course with a standardized test for the final exam.

Spring 2010 Schedule:

This class is designed to provide students with the competencies necessary to prepare them for information technology jobs in the future. 

 

 

Course Units:

Unit A:  The Internet

Unit B:  Software Applications for Business:

  • Documents & Publications
  • Spreadsheets
  • Databases
  • Presentation Software

Grading:

 

*Daily grades/class work – 40%

*Tests/Quizzes – 60%

*Notebook:  part of class work grade

*End of Course Final Exam is 25 percent of  

  the student’s final course grade.

4.    Authenticating Content notes – graphic organizer

5.    GP Web Page Evaluation

6.    IP Web Page Evaluation.- Have some or all students present their findings

 

Tuesday, February 9, 2010:

1.    Bell work.

2.    Collect/remind missing work

3.    Finish any student presentations desired

4.    View “Copyright or Wrong” video in RealPlayer.

5.    Students fill out Understanding the Fair Use Section of the Copyright Law as they watch the video.    Copyright or Wrong?  If video link still doesn’t work, cover highlights of John Brim’s Copyright Basics while students take notes.

 

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

2.    Collect/remind missing work.

3.    Review Fair Use 4 questions and Copyright Basics notes

4.    GP:  Fair Use activity

5.    IP:  Fair Use activity for a grade.

6.    Announce quiz Friday on 1.01 and 1.02.

7.    Students do online “vocats” questions for 1.01 and 1.02 using their Quia log-ins.   They should take the test multiple times until getting 90% or better.  (Put link on schoolnotes page.)
