Questions:  What is a typeface? What is a font, fontstyle and font family?

  1. Show and discuss Typography PPT while students take notes on Typography graphic organizer.
  2. Do It’s All In The Category activity together.
  3. Do Typeface Categories & Their Uses activity together
  4. Typeface Spacing notes
  5. Monospaced or Proportional activity
  6. Typeface Spacing in Action/Dress Code activity

 

Accounting I:

Start Objective 1.01: Understand theAccounting Equation, Debits & Credits:

1.01Assets, Liabilities & Owner’s Equity GraphicOrganizer where students brainstorm their personal assets & liabilities andthen calculate their equity.

1.01 What is Accounting? Graphic organizer.  Students tell about anyone they know whoworks in accounting and then fill in the graphic organizer with info. fromtextbook Chapter 1.

Students read the Accounting in Your Career scenarioon page 5 of the textbook and answer the 2 questions at the bottom.

  2. remind FBLA and take up info. sheets
  3. Typespacing in Action/Dress Code activity:  
  4. 1.01 Practice questions in Elements then in Quia.

Start Objective 1.02: Investigate Design Principles and Elements:

  1. Principles of Design notes including Rule of Thirds and Grids, Optical Center and Z-Pattern. – uses 2 pages of graphic organizers.
  2. Notes on Elements of Design in Desktop Publishing – students use graphic organizer - show the related PPT. 
  3. Divide class into 6-8 groups.  Students use magazines to cut out examples of:
  • Alignment
  • Balance
  • Contrast
  • Proximity/Unity
  • Repetition/Consistency
  • White Space  and glue to community board.


Accounting I:

  1. Students get out yesterday’s graphic organizer.
  2. Distribute Blank 1.01 Key Terms and have students define the key terms they have covered so far.  (review)
  3. Read together: The Business--Encore Music on page 6 of the textbook.
  4. Pass out (or get from Moodle) the blank graphic organizer: The Accounting Equation.
  5. Students look at page 8 of the textbook and on notebook paper answer questions 1-6.

    3. Typespacing in Action/Dress Code activity:   show EDU2.0 usernames and passwords on the board.  Have students log in and go to Resources to get their file.  Show them how to save it in the Rm.3 share folder.
    4. 1.01 Practice questions in Elements then in Quia. – have to give logins.

    (Instead of a community board, each group could do anotebook.  Provide headings and a rubric)
