Welcome Incoming Students and Parents!

I am the special education teacher who is providing support services to your A cog (Blue House) sixth grade child this school year.  I will be co-teaching with each of the regular education teachers in the X group 3 days of a 4 day rotation.  Additionally, your child will see me for one hour of academic support each day.  My main goals for this time are to serve as a support for the acquisition of skills and concepts being taught in the inclusion classrooms and to address specific IEP objectives not addressed in the inclusion classrooms.  Activities will include  pre-teaching, reteaching, remediation and practice, study skills' development, test prep sessions, independent reading, word processing activities and more.  From time to time, we will revisit the areas of organization and preparedness to ensure your child's materials are being maintained in an organized fashion.

Since your child's homework for his/her academic classes can be found on the core academic teachers' pages, I will use my page primarily to keep you informed of my use of your son's/daughter's Academic Support period.  (Core teachers are Claps, Humphrey, Friedman and Willinger)

Kids, I am enjoying getting to know you all!  I know we're going to have a GREAT year together.  We already are :-) Parents and Guardians, I very much look forward to meeting you.  Please feel free to call me anytime for a phone conversation regarding your child's progress or to arrange a meeting at school.

You may email me at loudheusden@ci.stamford.ct.us with any questions or concerns.

Thank you. Ms. Oudheusden

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am noticing many of your children are not completing homework assignments, both for academic support and for the core subject areas.  Please help by checking homework completion before bedtime.  You can find the assignments written both in your child's agenda and/or on this site under each teacher's name.  Thank you for your critical assistance in this very important area of your child's academic career.

We have been using the Academic Support period primarily to write, edit, and revise the LA interview.  I have also spent time reinforcing the skills and concepts taught in the Prime Time math book (currently GCF and LCM). We will soon be using this time to develop study skills in preparation for the SS and math tests.
