 This week we will continue working on learning our keyboard.  We will keep working on the home row keys, then we will learn H, E, I, & R.

Week of February 6th

We have typed all week. We had a test on Tuesday on Units 1.01 and 1.02.  We will have another test on Friday on the same information plus some addition keys from the keyboard.  The class averages for the first test were fantastic.  All three classes scored 90% or higher.

We will have completed the following alpha keys by Friday: home row, g, h, c, ., e, r, t, u, i, o, ., enter and space bar.

Week of February 13

We are keying this week.  We will be almost through with the alphabetic keyboard at the end of this week.  (b, y, m, x, p, v, q and comma)  There will be a brief test on Friday.  Friday is an early release day.

Week of February 22

This is a short week.  We will continue to learn the keyboard.  Also,  we will begin taking notes on Digital Literacy.  There will be a test on Friday.  We will begin with the Q and Comma.

Week of February 27

There will be test on Friday.  This test will cover what we have gone over in Digital Literacy and all of the alphabetic keys.

Week of March 5

Interims went out on Monday.  We will be working on our number keys this week.  Students need to be practicing at home

WEEK of March 12

The last test that we took our outstanding class averages had a nose dive!  We will need to review spacing, and symbols, again.  There will not be a retest, because you need to learn to study the first time!  We will continue working on our symbols in class.

We are working on on Unit 3.01.  We have completed 2 packets learning how to use the different Word 

features.  We will have a test on Wednesday.  Quarter grades are due on Friday.

WEEK OF APRIL 9th

Wow, we had a GREAT spring break!  Now, we are back to school with only 9 weeks to go!  We will be reviewing our typing skills this week and then we will begin learning about tables.  There will be test on Friday this week on everything we have covered this semester.

Week of April 16th

This week we will be spending the first three days in the library.  They are conducting 8th grade science test in my room and in Mrs. Briggerman's room.  You will have a vocabulary test on Tuesday.  We are learning about e-mails this week.

WEEK OF April 30

This week we are learning about business letters.  There will be a technique test this week, a timed typing and a vocabulary test.  If your student has good posture at the keyboard, this will be an easy test grade.  If your student is typing at home and using the skills that I have taught them, this also will be an easy test grade.  The letter vocabulary test will be the only test that they will have to study for.  If their grades are lower this quarter, that is natural.  We are in the skills part of the curriculum.  If your student is having problems touch typing it will show up at this point in time.  Remember your student must be able to touch type a min. of 21 wpm to meet state standards.
