Dear Parents,

            I hope you had a great Memorial Day Weekend.  This will be the last regular newsletter for the year.  Next week, of course, is the last week of school and I will include a note in your child’s report card explaining PALS results and math progress.

            Math:  A variety of topics will be covered in the next two weeks, including division with remainders, geometry, congruence, symmetry and a review of past topics.

Reading:  Some groups will be polishing up a reader’s theater play to read to their class. These plays help develop fluency.  Others will be working on comprehension.

Writer’s Workshop:  We will be reviewing the use of adjectives, nouns, and verbs by using Mad Libs stories.  This is always a very popular activity.  Please take the time to look over your child’s writer’s workshop folder when it comes home.  Note the development from September until the present.
