Osprey 6/7/8 Parents & Students -

           I will be having Math Field Day try-outs soon.....try-outs are open to the entire school. I need four 6th graders, four 7th graders and four 8th graders to take part in a competition at Landon Middle on Saturday morning, November 21st. Look for more details soon....

          **We have also secured a block of 140 tickets to go see the Broadway musical "Hairspray," on March 16th - DUE DATE for money will be Friday, November 13th**

          **The "Light the Night" walk is going to be on Thursday night, November 5th, starting at the Jacksonville Landing. I would like to put together an Osprey Team that night to walk. This walk benefits the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. More information coming very soon.....**

          I have come across an EXCELLENT resource for free, nightly homework help, 7 days a week between 4pm and 9pm. All your son/daughter needs is a current library card. Step 1 - Visit http://jpl.coj.net Step 2 - Click on the "For Teens" section, which is on the bottom right in orange. Step 3 - Under the section "Student Research," click on "Homework Help." Step 4 - Click on "LIVE Homework Help" and you'll be connected to a free, online tutor. There is even an interactive, whiteboard program if the student needs to 'draw out' their Math problem. Talk about an awesome tool for students at home!?

• Scientific Calculator (TI-34 Explorer is recommended - $15.99)
• one package of pre-hole punched graph paper
