HMS HISTORY DAY 2010 ![]() WELCOME TO HISTORY DAY! This year's History Day theme is: Innovation in History: Impact and Change Papers are due on Friday, February 26 Websites are due on Friday, March 5 Exhibits, Documentaries and Performances are due on Saturday, March 20 More on the theme: You can read an online discussion about the theme and its implications moderated by Dr. Cathy Gorn, executive director of National History Day and a professor at the University of Maryland. The discussion is very informative and will help you understand this year's theme better. See the link below to read the discussion. Class schedule:
Seventh and eighth grade students in History Day will leave social studies and come to Discovery Place for one 45-minute class each week. Sixth grade students will come to Discovery place during their extension period at the end of the day on days 1-4. Two Masters degree interns from UCONN, Ms. Lawrence and Mr. Banas, will also be working with students in History Day. AFTER SCHOOL HELP IS AVAILABLE EVERY TUESDAY AND THURSDAY FROM 2:35 TO 4:30, EXCEPT ON FACULTY MEETING. COME WITH A SPECIFIC TASK YOU WOULD LIKE TO ACCOMPLISH SUCH AS FINDING INTERVIEW SUBJECTS, TAKING NOTES, PLANNING YOUR WEBSITE OR OUTLINING YOUR PAPER. |
