_{In phonics we will begin a new phonics unit called "Sunshine and Raindrops." In this unit will will be reading about weather and seasons. We will be using our 12 Power Words during this unit. We will also have additional sight words to add to the list of words we have already mastered. Please study these weekly.}

_{In writing we will begin working on editing our stories. We will do this on our own and in partners. We will focus on writing tiny moment stories focusing on one topic. We will be working more and more on neatness, spacing and ending puncuation.}

_{In math we will finish our chapter on greater numbers. We will begin our chapter on fractions. We will talk about equal parts and halves.} 

_{Science/Social Studies}

_{In social studies we will begin the month talking about our nation's presidents. We will analyze the job of a president and even compare and contrast two of the most famous presidents, Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. We will also study teeth this month in science. February is National Dental Month.}
