Parent,

Please study the weekly spelling words with your child there is a test every Friday.  Also, they will receive 10 sight words a week, they only need to know these words by sight they do not need to know how to spell them these are words they will see in their weekly stories

We will also be starting a new assignment called Our Word Collection based on a book read in class called Max's Words.  Your child is to cut out words from magazines, books, pamplets, etc. and keep them in a plastic bag that I will supply.  They should collect as many words as possible throughout the year and use them to wirte sentences or even stories.  This will also help them with their reading as some of the words will be seen in their weekly stories.  Have fun and collect, collect, collect.

There are weekly flashcards posted that contain your childs spelling words for the week. These words come from the story that your child will read that week. There will be a spelling test every Friday on those words.Please practice with your child nightly.

We have began Chapter 7 in Science on Weather so please review with your child nightly.
