Our theme this year at Hurley Elementary is: DREAM. BELIEVE. DARE. DO.                    -Walt Disney  I am so glad to see everyone here at Hurley Elementary.  It is turning out to be a fantastic year!  Students will continue to see me in the Media Center on a rotating weekly basis.  Parents are always welcome to contact me here at school if there are any concerns/questions.  Children know that they may leave me a note in "Nemo" which is located just outside my ofice. Guidance lessons for the month of February revolve around the character word: Perserverance.  Are we teaching our children to continue to try and try again?  How often do we give up quickly because something appears to be too hard or difficult to handle?  Children are constantly watching and learning from us.  What message are we sending?  A great big "Thank you" to Mr. Greg Yousey from Carolina Counseling Services for his presentation on handling discipline and changing difficut behaviors in children.  It was fantastic!  We had a very small crowd, but those that were here had a wonderful time.  Thanks again Mr. Yousey! Career Day is scheduled for Friday, March 5th.  Please contact me if you are interested in sharing your career with our students.  It won't be as scary as you think!!! The Hospice and Palliative Care Center is announcing dates for Camp Carousel.  This camp is for students and adults who are struggling with the death of a loved one.
