Dear Parents:
I hope you had a restful and enjoyable summer! I am very excited to begin this journey into the 7th Grade with my students. I was able to get to know my class well last year, and I can tell you that they love to learn and have fun at the same time! I hope that they will maintain that positive energy and attitude as they transition from 6th to 7th Grade.
I will be teaching lessons in the 7th Grade classroom this year, just as I did last year, in the personal, social and academic domains. I will begin with an academic lesson in September that I hope will help the students better adjust to the demands of 7th Grade.
Please ensure that your 7th Grader has a personal study plan that he or she follows consistently. The plan should provide structure for your student by detailing the following:
~When does your student study? (Immediately after coming home from school or after a snack/exercise break?)
~Where does your student study? (In a bedroom, at the kitchen or dining room table?)
~Who checks your student's agenda book?
~How often does your student's agenda book need to be checked? (What level of monitoring does your student need?)
On average, your 7th Grader should spend approximately 2.0 hrs on homework and studying each night.
Please contact me if I can assist in any way! Thank you for partnering with me during these important years.
Sincerely,
Christina Mitchell Rush
