***PLEASE REFER TO THE HIGH SCHOOL REGISTRATION LINK ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE DANIELS HOMEPAGE...VERY IMPORTANT WEEKLY UPDATES CAN BE FOUND HERE***

Dear Parents:

I hope you had a restful and enjoyable summer! I am thrilled to come full circle with this particular group of students - the past two years I have worked with them have been a joy, and I look forward to helping your students have a productive and positive 8th Grade year.

Please check back later for updates on the classroom guidance lessons I will be teaching this year. I hope to teach my first lesson during the month of September. We will also begin the high school registration process in January - you will receive updates in the PTA newsletter, on Dr. Battle's weekly phone message, on the Daniels website homepage and your student will begin bringing information home.

Please ensure that your 8th Grader has a personal study plan that he or she follows consistently. The plan should provide structure for your student by detailing the following:

~When does your student study? (Immediately after coming home from school or after a snack/exercise break?)

~Where does your student study? (In a bedroom, at the kitchen or dining room table?)

~Who checks your student's agenda book?

~How often does your student's agenda book need to be checked? (What level of monitoring does your student need?)

On average, your 8th Grader should spend approximately 2.5 hrs on homework and studying each night.

Please contact me if I can assist in any way! Thank you for partnering with me during these important years.

Sincerely,

Christina Mitchell Rush
