Welcome to Mrs. Johnson's 6th Grade SCHOOLNOTES page. ______________________________________________________________

TODAY:

Complete DSS #41 – People have the power - rights

Complete DSS #42 – analyzing a photo

Time in the computer lab.  Many are printing off articles that they can take notes from.  We have one more day scheduled next Monday.

ASSIGNMENT:

Continue finding more sources and taking notes. They should have most of their notes done after Thanksgiving.  Then we can start on outlining and writing.  I told them a thorough report would start with about 75-100 note cards.  There are a lot of topics to try to cover.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • Thanks for the Kleenex to the two families that responded so promptly.  That should last for a little while.

TODAY:

Complete DSS #41 – People have the power - rights

Foiled again on the computer lab! I checked the wrong calendar and almost ran into Mrs. Mraz!  Tomorrow Mrs. Kalbfell is supposed to be in the lab.  So we may just use the Mobile Lab in my room, and the kids that have the same civilization can share a computer.

ASSIGNMENT:

Continue finding more sources and taking notes. They should have most of their notes done after Thanksgiving.  Then we can start on outlining and writing.  I told them a thorough report would start with about 50-100 note cards.  There are a lot of topics to try to cover.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • VEAP Friday!!  VEAP is an organization the helps the members of our community with food and other necessities.  This Friday, Nov. 20, if the kids bring an item of food (this time Bisquick, brownie mix, or cake mix) they may wear Spirit wear and jeans to school. It’s something to work for!
  • Could I ask for a contribution of Kleenex?  With no homeroom, I didn’t get any of that supply this year, and the kids have used up my leftover supply from last year.  We’ve been using quite a bit, so Thanks!

TODAY:

Kids turned in slips they hadn’t received credit for, so they will get the test back tomorrow.

Our time was short, so we didn’t go to the computer lab.  Instead they were to continue taking notes and I checked with a few more of the kids to see if they had sources, and if they were taking notes properly. We will have a full class in the computer lab tomorrow.  Have your kids told you that because of the class size, half of them are using the new laptops on the library side of the room? That Mobile lab is fun when the laptops are new and so fast!  Thanks to a generous donor.

ASSIGNMENT:

Continue finding more

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • LAST DAY to turn in magazine subscriptions tomorrow!
  • Thanks to all who came for the Social Studies Night.  It was a fun night and the spaghetti was awesome!
  • Friday is our first VEAP Friday.  VEAP is an organization the helps the members of our community with food and other necessities.  This Friday, Nov. 20,  if the kids bring an item of food (this time Bisquick, brownie mix, or cake mix) they may wear Spirit wear and jeans to school. It’s something to work for!
