Dear 8th Graders and Families,

Thanks for coming to Back to School night last week. I'll post on this Schoolnotes site until we are certain that the new area is up and available for student use.  Thanks for your consideration.

TESTS (included for Mrs. R's classes only)


*Spelling--Test on Lessons 31 and 7 (two lessons with science-oriented words) on Friday 9/9/11
*Religion--Test on Unit 2 on Thursday 9/15 (changed from Wednesday 9/14)
*Science--Test on Thursday 9/15
*Spelling--Test on Lesson 1 on Friday 9/16

ASSIGNMENTS (included for Mrs. R's classes only)

9/7/11 (those with * will be announced 9/8/11)

1. Spelling--Test on Lessons 31 and 7 is on Friday 9/9.  *Spelling Lesson 1 exercises are due Wednesday 9/14, and test on Friday 9/16.
2. Religion--Notes for Unit 2 are due Friday 9/9, test will be on Thursday 9/15.
3. Science--students must all check online edition access to see if it is working or if we have problems to address. *Notes for chapter 1.1 will be due Monday 9/12, 1.3 due Tuesday 9/13; notes for 1.2 and 1.4 will be due Monday 9/19.
4. *Literature--students will be given an "interview" assignment on Thursday 9/8, which is due Monday 9/12.
5. Reminders--please bring in signed Acceptable Use Policy and other forms (see BSS website for forms).




8/30/11
1. Religion--Read and take notes on Unit 1, due Friday 9/2/11; test on Unit 1 on Wednesday 9/7/11

2. Science--Read the safety packet, sign and return the contract portion no later than Tuesday 9/6/11. Please note that one of your parents must sign the contract too.

3. Literature-- By Tuesday 9/6/11, please read the handout from Bounce (distributed 8/31/11) and write one page (in Lit comp book) with your impressions, reactions, and questions based on what you read.

4.  Spelling--Complete workbook exercises for Lesson 31 (science words), due Friday 9/2/11; complete workbook exercises for Lesson 7, due Wednesday 9/7/11; test on Lessons 31 and 7 (combined) on Friday 9/9/11.

5.  French--I understand students received a packet with expressions related to courtesy and manners, and there will be a quiz on the packet material on Friday 9/2/11.
